The Department of
Radiology of Sri Ramachandra University has approximately 20,000 square
feet of space and is located predominantly in the main block of the
hospital wing in the ground floor and first floor and also in the
inpatient and out patient block. The major interventional suite is
located in the sterile theatre environment on the sixth floor of the
hospital wing. The department has several state of the art
equipments, more than 100 personnel working for the diagnostic and
therapeutic services. The Department offers courses in - MD, DMRD, MSc
(Radiography), BSc (Radiography), PhD and PDCC (Vascular &
Interventional Radiology) courses. The department offers high quality
teaching, research and academic activities.
The clinical
imaging equipment is “state-of-the-art”. The equipments include two CT
Scanners, one of which is VCT-XT (GE 64 slice scanner), GE Light speed (8
slice scanner) with 3D rendering and CT angiographic capabilities. MRI
facility houses a 1.5T GE HDX. Advanced techniques are available such as
MRA, functional MRI. The department also equipped with state of the art
Ultrasound Scanners (3D & 4D), CR and DR. It is in the process of
acquiring PACS.
